News letter

03rd April 2019.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

You are invited to attend a Parents’ Forum on Wellbeing next Tuesday evening, 9th April at 4:30pm at the school. As you may be aware from the media, there is a big focus currently on wellbeing and young people’s mental health. In the forum, you will have the opportunity to hear what activities we have carried out in school to promote pupil wellbeing and how health and wellbeing is going to be a key area of learning and experience in the new forthcoming curriculum. You will also be able to have a taster session of Mindfulness and hear from Cwmni Iach – a charity based locally at the DOVE involved in improving wellbeing and mental health in the local area. You are all very welcome to attend.

The deadline for the Easter competition this year is next Tuesday 9th April. Pupils have been asked to design an Easter bonnet or a 3D model of an egg. Please could all competition entries and Easter raffle tickets/money be handed in no later than next Tuesday. Thank you.

We will be having a Staff training day INSET on Monday 29th of April. The pupils will therefore return to school following the Easter break on Tuesday 30th April.

Due to the uncertainty regarding what is happening regarding Brexit, I have this morning been contacted by the Electoral Commission to ask for the school to be used as a polling station on the 23rd of May, were the country to be involved in electing members for the European Parliament. This is only a provisional arrangement and as soon as it becomes clear whether we will need to close or not for this election, I will pass on this information to you.
